El Venezolano is lover of Christmas: Few know what is the Midnight Mass, but what I love to spend the profits in pots for the house. Christmas food is the most elaborate is the country's gastronomy, it is almost a ritual for families, rituals are not exempt from beliefs, stories and tricks that are passed from generation to generation.
But there is one small detail: The Venezuelan converts almost any meal into a Christmas dish to add a magic ingredient: Raisins. No matter if the dish is sweet or salty raisins appear automatically if it is considered a Christmas.
Actually I like raisins, but only raw, or otherwise in sweet food. In any other presentation, I believe they are over.
Case # 1: Ham Loaf. This pan comes with green olives (?) And raisins (¿?). Modern families buy it and do not eat all day, ergo, they keep in the fridge. To return to eat fairly well, heat it in the microwave, which leads to raisins know worse.
Case # 2: Hallacas: Apply as described above in case # 1 with the addition that many people say "The raisin is more like an ornament in the hallaca, still need to eat ". For that reason, I dare say the following:
- A good percentage of people do not like raisins, but they come "because food should not be espurgar (sic) ".
